Yay! All the boxes for the first round of books (Vols 1 & 2) are out and heading toward our backers!!
Please give us ten days to do DragonCon and return, then we'll get started on sending out all the Paladin mystery boxes for the rest of the year. We're hoping by then that Vols 3 & 4 will be arriving and we'll get started on shipping those out. We'll let everyone know once we receive those and start packing & shipping them.
For those who ordered only Volume 5, please note that Vols 3 & 4 will ship before we do 5. Those are slated to ship in 2024.

First, let us start off by saying how much we love and adore our readers and backers. You guys have been awesome and we really appreciate you and your patience as we fulfill your orders.
We know it's August and we are still very busy shipping books. We have just under 2000 orders left to ship out of volumes 1 & 2. Please bear with us as we do our best to fulfill all orders as fast as we can. Please note that we shipped the older orders and those who backed the campaign first.
If you have not received an email about your shipment, then you're one of the 2000 we are doing our best to fulfill. We're sorry it's taking so long, but know that we are working long hours, 7 days a week to get them out. Each book has to be opened and hand signed, checked, then very carefully rewrapped before it can be shipped to the backer so that the books will arrive undamaged. It's been rainy and on rainy days, we cannot go to the post office as there's no way to pack the car without books getting wet and we don't want to risk damaging them.
But please be assured that we are doing our very best to get your books to you just as fast as we can. Thousands and thousands of orders have already been filled, and as I said, we are down to the last 2000. Our goal is to get all volumes 1 & 2 out the door before DragonCon as we won't be able to ship at all during that event. Fingers crossed we make it. But again, if we don't, we will not be able to ship books from Aug 30-Sept 5.

If you ordered books and other items, please note that the tracking number you receive or received in the past may not be for the books. It might be for other items. To see what has been ordered and what has been shipped, please check your orders here: https://acheron.backerkit.com/
The one BIG exception to using the portal: Address Changes. If you need to change your address, please do no use the portal to do so. Please contact us ASAP staff@mightybarnacle. com and let us know what your new address is.
Once we get all the first two volumes shipped, we will then ship out the remaining boxes. Once all the mystery Paladin boxes are shipped, we will begin shipping volumes 3 & 4.
After 3 & 4 ship, we will then begin shipping volume 5. We do not have a projected schedule at this time. But please be aware that we will let everyone know when the last of volumes 1 & 2 ship, when we ship the last of the mystery Paladin boxes, and when we begin and finish shipping volumes 3 & 4. As well we when we begin shipping volume 5.
We are still asking for backers to check their orders through their portal https://acheron.backerkit.com/ before they contact us. Most questions can be answered by visiting the portal, especially if the question is in regard to what has been ordered, if it's been shipped, your address, and ebook downloads. We really appreciate your help with this as a single email can take us up to an hour to research.
Please remember that we will post updates here on Kickstarter the first week of the month. If we are a little late, such as this coming September when we will all be at DragonCon, know that we will post as soon as we're back. If no update is posted, please read the previous update. We promise that we will let everyone know as soon as we can when something changes.

Happy 4th to all of our US backers!
We wanted to keep everyone updated. We are still signing, packaging and shipping Volumes 1 & 2 as fast as possible.
Once we get all the orders out, we will begin fulfilling the Paladin Mystery boxes again. Once we've caught up with the Paladin boxes, we will begin shipping the next volume of books.
We are so sorry for the delays. But we are working long hours, all week long, trying our best to get the books into everyone's eager hands and we deeply appreciate your patience.

Book update

We’re wanting to keep everyone updated as we know exactly how eager everyone is to get their books, and we appreciate that. We are still filling the book orders as fast as we can. If you haven’t received your order, please don’t panic. You’re still in the ones we are getting to as fast as we can. Please remember that Sherri has had to sign over ten thousand books and each book has to be wrapped in paper and bubble wrap to protect it, then carefully placed in a box. It’s a time consuming process, and we are working morning, noon, and late into the night to fulfill as many orders each day as we can, even through the weekends. We also have to make multiple deliveries to the post office each day where we fill two or more tubs with hundreds of pounds of books each time, and that, too takes time.
Once we finish packing and mailing all orders, we will post an update on Kickstarter and Facebook to let everyone know that the last book order has been sent. If everyone could please wait until two weeks after that post about the final books shipped to ask about any order you haven’t received, we would deeply appreciate it as answering emails on that takes time away from packing orders, and right now, we really want to focus our attention on getting the books out to everyone as quickly as possible.
To help facilitate that, we won’t be mailing the Nick, League, or Deadman’s Cross Paladin boxes until after we fulfill the orders for volumes 1 & 2. Once the last book is mailed out, then we’ll begin filling the mystery box orders.

Books, books and more books

First, we want to let everyone know how much we appreciate everyone being patient during the Acheron/Styxx campaign. We know how anxious everyone is to get their orders and we are working night and day to fulfill them just as fast as we can.
To answer some FAQs that keep coming in:
Where is my tracking number?
You will receive a tracking number when your package is mailed. Your order for the first two volumes is in the queue with several thousand others. We are processing those thousands of books just as fast as we can.
Because of all our wonderful Paladins who pledged the campaign, we are shipping over ten thousand copies of books with a very small staff. We really wish we were Amazon with tens of thousands of employees, but our staff and volunteers are every bit as dedicated to getting the books to you just as fast as is humanly possible.
Unfortunately, it will take us weeks to unpack all the ordered books, have them signed, pack the orders, ship the orders, and carry the packages to the post office. They are being processed in waves as fast as possible by our small staff. We really wish we could provide an ETA, but there’s just no way to do so. And please remember that we’re making multiple runs to the post office where we are handing over five hundred to one thousand pounds of books at a time. Because we are handing off hundreds of packages weighing hundreds and hundreds of pounds, it sometimes takes the postal workers time to get everything scanned in and moving (we also have a small post office). So if you see the “label” printed message on your tracking, it doesn’t mean the PO doesn’t have it (although it might still be in the truck headed to the PO), but it could also mean that it’s sitting in a bin and will be scanned into the system shortly. Sometimes it will take a few hours or even a day or two once a label has been scanned to be updated in their system.
Because this task is so monumental, we are asking for Paladins to please withhold emails until we get the last of the books shipped. We are getting so many emails from people wanting tracking information that is available from the post office or for orders that have not been shipped yet (or about swag) or orders that have been recently placed (many of them haven’t even been charged for those new orders yet) that it is taking us as many as five hours a day to look up and answer those questions. We don’t want anyone to feel slighted in any way as we value each and every one of you and we want to answer all your questions, but we really would like to focus on getting as many books out a day as we can.
Please note that if you place a new order for anything physical, it may take one to two weeks before your card is billed and your order will be placed at the end of the queue. For those who order ebooks, a link for your download will be sent to you after your card is charged (again, this could take up to a week or two).
We do have ONE exception to the email request. If you are moving to a new address, please, please email the following details to us as fast as you can at [email protected]:
- Order number
- email that you used when you backed the campaign
- name that you used when you backed the campaign
- old address
- new address
- dates you are moving.
Please do not attempt to change the address on your own (we really appreciate you wanting to be helpful). However, those orders that were locked, will not update on our end and we won’t see it before we ship your items. The only way to make sure your address is updated is to email us [email protected]
About the Swag
All swag orders are being shipped in a small envelope sent via USPS first class mail. There is no tracking number for swag and because it’s first class, it will take a little longer to get there. Please be patient as we are shipping swag in waves with the books.
We have a good system down and have made huge inroads into getting all orders fulfilled, but we still have a mountain of books to go.
We will post an update when the last order of books and/or swag is shipped. If you haven’t seen that update on the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shadowqueen/acheron-and-styxx-house-of-didymos Then please know that we are busy at work, trying to complete the orders as fast as we can. We’re even working this holiday weekend.
Please note that at this time, we are unable to provide refunds. Pledging a Kickstarter campaign is not the same as purchasing a product from a store. The money you pledged for your items was spent to produce the books and swag, to pay the artist, buy packaging materials, pay shipping, pay formatting and editing, processing fees, federal and state tax, book storage, shipping, etc. Because that money has been spent, we cannot refund it.
Likewise, we are not able to upgrade or downgrade your order at this time. The fulfillment systems are not equipped to handle such requests.
